Student Services
The Student Services CTE — called Wildcat Services in our model — trains middle school students to support the well-being, safety, and culture of the school community.
Grounded in ethics, confidentiality, stigma reduction, and inclusive communication, this program gives students real responsibilities that mirror careers in social services, counseling, public health, education support, hospitality, emergency preparedness, and community outreach.
Students learn to serve with professionalism, compassion, and leadership by carrying out tasks that make a direct impact on their school.

Daily Activities
In our building, Student Services students complete tasks that directly impact school culture and student wellbeing:
-
Running the hygiene pantry and clothing closet
-
Maintaining the school food pantry and helping pack meal bags
-
Planning clothing drives, food drives, and donation events
-
Supporting schoolwide events such as pep rallies, spirit weeks, dances, and family nights
-
Providing hospitality and accessibility support at events
-
Assisting with safety preparedness and basic student watch duties
-
Preparing and helping co-facilitate Tier 1 counseling/wellness groups
-
Creating mental health, kindness, and wellness campaigns
-
Connecting students with resources and helping maintain the community resource board
-
Collaborating with community partners to keep all pantries stocked

What Makes This CTE Different

Unlike traditional SEL or advisory programs, Student Services functions as a real support department inside your school. Students perform meaningful, structured tasks that serve the entire building while developing leadership, empathy, and professional behavior.
This CTE transforms school culture by giving students ownership of:
-
basic needs supports
-
wellness initiatives
-
event and hospitality roles
-
safety and culture improvement
-
family and community engagement
Schools often see improved climate, stronger attendance, and increased student pride because students become part of the solution—not just the recipients of services.
