Education

The Education CTE prepares students to explore careers in teaching, child development, and educational leadership by giving them authentic opportunities to assist and mentor others within their own school.

Students serve as classroom assistants, tutors, and school-wide mentors, helping teachers with daily operations, creating engaging displays, and supporting student learning across grade levels.

This program promotes communication, patience, empathy, and leadership—the same skills that define excellent educators.

Daily Activities

Education students begin each day by checking in with their assigned classrooms or departments to see where support is needed. Their tasks build both academic and interpersonal skills through authentic service.

What Makes It Different

Porter’s Academy’s Education CTE is not a traditional “teacher helper” rotation — it’s a student-run education department.

Students take responsibility for visible, meaningful contributions to the school, from creating academic bulletin boards to organizing events that promote attendance and learning.

They gain early experience in communication, leadership, and service while learning how education impacts both individuals and communities.

Their work strengthens relationships between students and staff and makes school a place everyone feels proud to belong.
